Microsoft retail stores will open anytime soon
Microsoft confirmed last Wednesday that it will be opening its first retail stores this fall, with at least some of the locations likely to be right near an Apple store - let the battle begin!

I assume Microsoft would want to have the stores open in time for Windows 7's October 22 retail launch and for the holiday selling season as well. In addition, Microsoft have also launched an online software store that sells their products directly to customers.
